IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON DUBUQUE STREET: The Iowa City Gateway Project—a partnership led by the City of Iowa City in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and U.S. Economic Development Administration—will significantly impact travel to and from the University of Iowa campus until late in the summer of 2018. The completed project will reduce closures of Dubuque Street and Park Road Bridge due to localized flash floods and historic Iowa River flood events; minimize backwater flood impacts created by the existing Park Road Bridge; better serve transit, pedestrians, and bicyclists; and preserve and enhance the natural aesthetics of the corridor that leads to Iowa City from Interstate 80.
As you make you plans to visit the UI, we encourage you to review the information available here and to adjust your travel plans accordingly.
